Tutoring sessions are one hour long.
How and when do I pay?
Payment can be made at the time of the visit with cash or check , or an invoice can be sent via email; which can be paid online with a card.
How does our homeschooling program work?
Our homeschooling program provides a unique blend of grade-level structure and personalized attention. It's designed for families who want a high-quality, professional education for their children without the constraints of a traditional school. We achieve this by:
Grade-Level Curriculum: Our program follows a set, comprehensive curriculum for each grade, ensuring students are learning all the necessary subjects and skills in a sequential, organized way. This approach provides a clear path and benchmarks for academic progress, so you know your child is on track.
Small Student-to-Teacher Ratio: The core of our program is the small class size. A low student-to-teacher ratio allows our educators to provide individualized instruction and give each student the attention they need to succeed. This isn't just about covering material; it's about making sure each child truly understands the concepts and feels supported in their learning journey.
Certified Teachers: All our instructors are certified educators with professional teaching experience. They are experts at adapting the curriculum to different learning styles and can address specific learning challenges, ensuring your child receives a high-quality education that is both engaging and effective.
How are we different than other tutoring and homeschooling centers?
At Scholar Skills Strategies, we represent a shift in focus from simply getting good grades to achieving genuine subject mastery. By allowing students many opportunities to practice skills using a variety of multisensory methods, our program ensures students truly understand the material before moving on. This deep understanding builds a strong educational foundation and prepares them for future challenges, whether in higher education or their careers.
What is comprehensive diagnostic testing?
Educational diagnostic testing is a type of assessment used to pinpoint a student's specific academic strengths and weaknesses. Unlike a standardized test that gives a general score or a classroom quiz that checks for recent understanding, a diagnostic test is designed to provide a detailed, "diagnostic" picture of a student's skills in a particular subject area, such as reading or math. The primary purpose of this testing is to identify the root cause of learning difficulties and uncover any gaps in a student's foundational knowledge. The results are not used for grades but rather to create a personalized, targeted learning plan to help the student overcome their challenges and build a strong foundation for future learning.
